There are no mistakes in life...just opportunities. My most recent "opportunity"...as some close friends and readers have pointed out, was a typo in the email post yesterday that coincidentally was crafted to be the core message of this piece. For those of you that caught it and were confused, I apologize. Maybe that was just enough tension for you to question what I meant to say. For those of you who noticed it, filled in the blank, and knew that it was an error- perhaps it hammered the idea home a bit more...or maybe not :)
Here is the sentence where the error was committed:
“and it DOES have to be shackled by consumerism, corporate greed or endless growth - it can be a wholesome, purpose driven, and life centered modality to fuel our dreams, our need for community, and our exploration at the frontiers of life.”
“It”, being business, DOES NOT have to shackled by consumerism, corporate greed or endless growth- and this a myth that we need to dispel. Over and over again. Until we change the way we are conditioned to think and behave within this context. Our conditioned beliefs and behaviors around business are an error (as businesses can thrive without these things) and an opportunity as well.
Hopefully my mistake here can be a reminder.
Humbly,
David
